YouTube Alerts

YouTube Alerts lets you subscribe to YouTube channels and automatically post a notification in a Discord channel when that creator goes live — and, if you want, when they upload a video, post a Short or schedule a premiere. You can subscribe to multiple channels, each with its own target Discord channel, optional role mentions, and a customisable message for every kind of alert. A Premium feature: the page header shows On while the server has Premium and Needs Premium otherwise — there is nothing else to switch on.

Channel ID

The unique identifier for the YouTube channel you want to monitor, in the format UCxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. You can find it in the channel URL on YouTube or via third-party tools like commentpicker.com/youtube-channel-id.php.

What to Announce

Pick any mix of four kinds: Live streams (on by default), New videos, Shorts and Premieres. Each kind has its own message, edited in its tab under Message Content. Diski only announces videos published after you switched a kind on — it never posts a channel's back catalogue — and each video is announced once. Shorts: YouTube's API doesn't say which videos are Shorts, so Diski asks YouTube itself about each new video of 3 minutes or less; if YouTube doesn't answer, a video of 3 minutes or less counts as a Short and anything longer as a regular video. Premieres are announced when they are scheduled (so members can set a reminder); if a premiere starts before Diski saw it scheduled, the live alert covers it. New uploads are usually posted within 5–15 minutes, depending on how quickly YouTube lists them.

Notification Channel

The Discord text channel where the bot will post the alert message when the subscribed YouTube channel goes live. Only text channels your bot has permission to send messages in will appear in the list.

Notification Roles

One or more Discord roles to @mention in the notification message so those members are pinged when the stream starts. Leave this empty if you do not want to ping any roles.

Message Content

One message per kind of alert you switched on — use the Live / Uploads / Shorts / Premieres tabs to edit each. Plain text, an embed, or both, with variables such as {{streamer.name}} and {{streamer.title}} (the video or stream title), plus {{video.url}} (a link to the video, Short or stream), {{video.thumbnail}} (its thumbnail, handy as the embed image), {{video.type}} and {{video.scheduledTime}} (when a premiere starts, e.g. "in 2 hours" — Discord does not render it inside embed titles).

Title Filter

A comma-separated list of keywords; if set, alerts are only sent when the stream or video title contains at least one of them (not case-sensitive). It applies to every kind of alert. Leave empty to receive alerts for any title.

Auto Delete

When enabled, the live notification is deleted from Discord once the stream ends, so the channel only shows streams that are live right now. Upload, Short and premiere announcements are never deleted.
