Leveling
Leveling rewards your most active members. They earn XP for chatting and, if you switch it on, for time spent together in voice channels; XP adds up to levels on the same curve MEE6 uses, so imported levels match exactly. Announce level-ups, hand out reward roles automatically and share a public leaderboard, while members check their progress with /rank and /leaderboard. Leveling is free for every server.
Leveling
The switch at the top of the Leveling page. Leveling is off until you turn it on, so a server never starts earning XP or posting level-up messages by surprise. Clicking the switch saves at once — no Save needed — and the bot picks it up within about 15 seconds. While it is on, members earn XP for messages (and for voice, if enabled). While it is off, nobody earns XP, level-up messages stop and the public leaderboard is hidden, but everyone keeps the XP they already have; the settings stay visible, and trying to change one offers to turn Leveling on. The leaderboard, XP edits and the MEE6 import keep working while it is off.
How levels work
Going from level L to the next level takes 5 × L² + 50 × L + 100 XP: 100 XP for level 1, 155 more for level 2, and 1,100 more to go from level 10 to 11. It is the same curve MEE6 uses, so a member's level always matches their total XP on either bot.
Message XP
Each message that earns XP gives a random amount between the minimum and maximum you set (1–100). Bots, webhooks, system messages and direct messages never earn XP. Multipliers scale the amount.
Cooldown
After a member earns XP for a message, their next messages earn nothing until the cooldown has passed (0–3600 seconds, default 60). That makes spamming pointless: a member earns at most once per cooldown however much they post. Set it to 0 to reward every message.
Voice XP
When on, members earn a fixed amount of XP (1–100) for every full minute they spend in a voice or stage channel. Diski checks once a minute, and a member must be in voice at two checks in a row without leaving in between, so hopping in and out earns nothing. The server's AFK channel never earns, and no-XP channels, no-XP roles and multipliers apply to voice too.
Minimum members in the channel
Voice XP is only given in channels with at least this many members who are not bots (1–10, default 2), so nobody earns XP by sitting alone. Set it to 1 to reward time spent alone as well.
No voice XP while muted or deafened
When on, members who muted or deafened themselves earn no voice XP (they still count toward the minimum members). Only muting or deafening yourself counts: a member muted by a moderator keeps earning.
No-XP channels and roles
Messages in no-XP channels never earn XP, and neither does time in no-XP voice channels. Pick a category to cover every channel inside it; threads follow the channel they belong to. Members holding any no-XP role never earn XP anywhere, whatever their multipliers.
XP multipliers
Scale XP for roles and channels, from 0 to 5 in steps of 0.1 (up to 25 multipliers). A member's role multiplier is the highest one among their roles (1 when none of their roles has one), multiplied by the channel's multiplier; a channel's own multiplier wins over its category's. Example: a 2× Booster role chatting in a 1.5× channel earns 3× XP. 0 means no XP, but a 0 role only counts when it is the member's highest role multiplier, so use no-XP roles to block XP outright. A multiplier on @everyone applies to the whole server, which is handy for a double-XP weekend.
Level-up message
The message Diski sends when a member reaches a new level, up to 500 characters. Variables: {user} mentions the member, {username} is their name without a ping, {level} is the new level, {xp} is their total XP and {server} is the server name. Leave it empty to use the default: GG {user}, you reached level {level}!
Where to announce
Where they chat posts the message in the channel the member was talking in; for a level reached in voice, that is the voice channel's own text chat. A set channel always posts in the channel you pick. Direct message sends it privately, and members who have DMs turned off simply don't get one. Diski needs permission to send messages wherever it posts.
Ping the member
When on, {user} in the message notifies the member. When off, the mention still shows but nobody is notified. Level-up messages can never ping roles, @everyone or @here, whatever the message or a member's name contains.
Role rewards
Roles Diski gives automatically when a member reaches a level (up to 100 rewards, levels 1–500, each role once). Rewards are checked whenever a member levels up by earning XP, and when you change XP with /xp, and every reward they are owed is given at once. XP set on the dashboard or imported from MEE6 earns its rewards at the member's next level-up. Diski's own role must sit above every reward role, and it cannot hand out managed roles (bot or booster roles) or @everyone. Only server administrators can choose reward roles that carry moderation or admin permissions — and while any reward role carries them, only administrators can change the Leveling settings at all, since faster XP would reach that role sooner. Lowering someone's XP never takes a reward role away.
Reward mode
Keep every reward lets members collect all the reward roles they have reached. Keep only the highest gives just the reward for the highest level reached and removes the lower reward roles, which suits rank roles like Bronze, Silver and Gold. A lower reward is only removed once the new one was actually given, and a higher reward role someone was given by hand is left alone.
Public leaderboard
Publishes your rankings at diski.xyz/leaderboard/ followed by your server ID. Anyone with the link can see member names, avatars, levels and XP; the page is not listed in search engines. It only works while Leveling is on and this switch is saved, and turning it off takes the page down right away. The /leaderboard command links to it while it is public.
Reset XP when a member leaves
When on, a member’s XP is deleted the moment they leave the server (including kicks and bans), so rejoining starts from zero. Off, the default, keeps their XP for when they come back. It only applies while Leveling is on.
Leaderboard
Every member with XP, highest first, with their level, progress to the next level, messages and voice time. Use the pencil to set, add or remove XP for one member (their level is recalculated instantly), or reset a single member. Reset everyone wipes the whole server’s XP after a second click to confirm. Only server administrators can change or reset XP, and none of these actions remove reward roles.
Commands
/rank shows your level, XP progress, rank and activity (as an image card when the rank card is on); pick a member to see theirs. /leaderboard shows the server's top 10 and links to the public page when it is on. /xp add, /xp remove and /xp set change a member's XP and need the Administrator permission. /rank and /leaderboard work while Leveling is on.
Rank card
When on, /rank answers with an image card instead of the text embed: the member's avatar and name, their rank and level, a progress bar to the next level, total XP and their message and voice activity, in the accent colour you pick. It is free for every server. Diski needs the Attach Files permission where /rank is used; whenever a card can't be made, /rank answers with the embed as before. Emoji and characters the card's font can't draw are left out of names. The rank card can be changed on its own even while a reward role with moderation or admin permissions limits the other Leveling settings to administrators.
Import from MEE6
Copies XP from MEE6's leaderboard for this server: up to 20,000 members, once every 10 minutes (an attempt MEE6 turned down can be retried after 2 minutes). Only server administrators can import. First make the MEE6 leaderboard public in MEE6's dashboard, because Diski can only read public leaderboards. Keep the higher XP gives each member whichever is higher, their MEE6 XP or their Diski XP, and is safe to run again. Replace with MEE6 XP sets the members MEE6 lists to exactly their MEE6 XP and leaves everyone else alone. Levels carry over exactly because both bots use the same curve; reward roles are given the next time each member levels up.
