Feeds
Feeds posts new items from websites and Bluesky accounts into your channels: blog and news articles, subreddit posts, YouTube uploads, Steam game news, podcast episodes — anything with an RSS or Atom feed — and the posts of any public Bluesky account. Add a feed, pick a channel, and Diski checks it every 10 minutes and announces each new item as an embed or a plain message, optionally pinging a role. Feeds are part of Diski Premium (the page header shows On with Premium, Needs Premium without); a server can have up to 10. Use Pause on a feed to stop just that one.
Feed Sources
Choose RSS / Atom for anything published as a feed (most websites have one, even when they don't advertise it), or Bluesky to follow an account's posts. The source is fixed once the feed is added — to follow something else, remove the feed and add a new one. The same source can post to several channels (for example with different keyword filters), but only once per channel.
Feed Address
The address of an RSS, Atom or RSS 1.0 feed, such as https://example.com/feed.xml. Useful ones: a subreddit is https://www.reddit.com/r/NAME/.rss; a YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=UC… (the channel id from its page); Steam news for a game is https://store.steampowered.com/feeds/news/app/APPID/ (the number in its store link). If you paste a website's homepage instead, Check feed looks for the feed the page advertises and offers it. Only public http(s) addresses on the standard ports work — addresses on private or internal networks are refused.
Bluesky Account
The account's handle, such as alice.bsky.social or a custom domain handle like example.com — a bsky.app profile link or a did:plc: identifier works too. Diski posts the account's own new posts; replies and reposts are skipped. It follows the account itself, so a later handle change doesn't break the feed. Only public posts can be read.
Check Feed
Check feed fetches the source right away and shows its name, how many items it has and its latest item, and the message preview switches to that real item. Nothing is posted and nothing is saved. Use it to confirm an address before adding it; if you pasted a web page, it suggests the page's real feed.
Channel
The text channel new items are posted in. Diski needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links there (Embed Links only when posting as an embed). If the channel is deleted or Diski loses access, the feed card shows it, and items published meanwhile are skipped rather than posted late.
Ping Role
An optional role mentioned with every new item, so the people who care get notified. Picking @everyone pings the whole server, so only server administrators (the owner, or members with the Administrator permission) can pick it; anyone else who edits a feed that already pings @everyone can keep that ping, but can't set it on another feed. Diski also needs the Mention Everyone permission for it — use it sparingly on busy feeds. Only this role can ever be pinged: mentions written inside a post, a title or your message text never ping anyone.
Message & Variables
The text posted with each item. Variables are filled in per item: {title} (the item's title), {link} (its address), {author} (who wrote it, when the feed says) and {feed} (the feed's name). With the embed on, the text is optional — the embed already shows the title, link and summary. With the embed off, leaving it empty posts the title in bold with the link underneath. Up to 1000 characters; text from a feed is shown exactly as written, never as formatting.
Embed & Picture
Post as an embed shows a card with the item's title (linking to it), a short summary, the feed's name and the publish time, plus the item's picture when "Include the picture" is on and the feed provides one. Turn the embed off to post plain text instead — Discord then adds its own preview of the link (for YouTube, a playable video).
Keyword Filters
Only post if it mentions: when set, an item is posted only if its title or summary contains at least one of these words. Never post if it mentions: an item containing any of these is skipped. Separate words with commas; matching ignores upper and lower case and finds the word anywhere, so "patch" also matches "patches". Up to 20 keywords in each list. Skipped items are not posted later.
When Items Are Posted
Diski checks each feed every 10 minutes. The first check after you add a feed only notes what is already there, so nothing old is posted — announcements start with the next new item. Each check posts at most 5 new items per feed, oldest first; if more than 5 appeared since the last check, the newest 5 are posted and the rest skipped, so a burst can't flood your channel. If a feed couldn't be checked for more than 24 hours (it was paused, Premium lapsed, or the site was down), Diski catches up quietly instead of posting a backlog.
Feed Status
Each feed card shows when it was last checked and last posted. Starting means the first check hasn't happened yet (it takes a minute or two). Needs attention means the check worked but Diski couldn't post — usually a missing permission or a deleted channel; the card says which. Failing means the source itself couldn't be read (the site is down, the address moved, or it isn't a feed): Diski keeps retrying, waiting longer after each failure (up to 6 hours), and goes back to every 10 minutes as soon as it works. Pause stops a feed without deleting it.
