Music
Diski Music plays songs from SoundCloud, direct audio links and a hand-picked list of internet radio stations in your voice channels. It's free for every server, always, and there's nothing to set up: join a voice channel and use /play or /radio. YouTube and Spotify aren't supported.
/play
/play query plays a song. Type a search and Diski plays the best match from SoundCloud, choosing a full-length upload over a 30-second preview whenever there is one (if only a preview can be played, Diski says so in the channel). You can also paste a SoundCloud track link, a SoundCloud playlist link (every track in it is queued), or a direct http(s) link to an audio file or internet radio stream. YouTube and Spotify links are refused. If something is already playing, the song joins the queue; if a radio station is playing, the song replaces it.
/radio
/radio station tunes in to one of 25 curated stations; start typing to search by name or genre (jazz, country, 80s…). Diski Radio is a rolling, shuffled mix of mainstream hits from SoundCloud that keeps refilling itself. The rest are live stations: SomaFM (Groove Salad, Indie Pop Rocks, Secret Agent), Radio Paradise and its mixes, KEXP Seattle, ABC Australia's triple j and Double J, Radio France's FIP, SRG SSR's Radio Swiss Jazz, Classic and Pop, and 181.FM's genre stations. Starting a station replaces whatever is playing and clears the queue. Only stations on this list can be played with /radio — paste any other stream link into /play.
Station Credits
Each station's credit is shown when it starts. SomaFM, Radio Paradise and KEXP are listener-supported and commercial-free, and ABC, Radio France and SRG SSR are public broadcasters funded by their listeners and licence payers — if you enjoy a station, consider supporting it on its own website. Diski Radio's songs stream from SoundCloud; support the artists there.
Controlling Playback
/skip plays the next song in the queue (a radio station has no next song — use /radio to change station, /play to switch to a song, or /stop). /pause and /resume pause and continue. /stop stops the music, clears the queue and makes Diski leave. /volume percent sets the volume from 1 to 200 (100 is normal) while Diski is playing. /queue shows what is playing and what is next, and /nowplaying shows the current song or station.
Voice Channels
Join a voice channel before using /play or /radio, and Diski joins you there. Diski plays in one voice channel per server: while it's playing, you have to be in that channel to start or control the music. It leaves on its own after about 5 minutes with nothing playing, or about 3 minutes after everyone else has left. Diski needs the Connect and Speak permissions in the channel.
Who Can Use Music
Everyone can use the music commands by default. To limit them — for example to a DJ role, or to switch music off — use the Slash Commands page; that's your server's choice, never a Premium gate.
Privacy
Diski joins voice channels deafened, so it never hears or records voice chat, and it doesn't keep a history of what you play: the queue exists only while the music is on.
